vesica piscis (shape)
The vesica piscis is a specific type of lens_(shape) formed by the intersection of two circles, each with its edge on the center of the other.
The name is Latin for the "bladder of a fish", whose dual swim-bladders also form this shape.
When the vesica piscis surrounds a holy figure, it is called a mandorla.
