scrollwork

Scrollwork (or just "scroll") is any decorative element that uses swirling, spiralling forms. Scrollwork is typically used to add visual interest to otherwise empty spaces, and is an extremely common form of ornamentation.
The scrolls are often designed to resemble tangled vines ("plant-scrolls"), but can represent other flat objects (e.g. leather straps or paper), or just be generic geometric shapes.

This tag should be used for any object with scrollwork patterns.
