angus cameron
Angus Cameron (1871-1961) was a British soldier and colonial administrator. The Sudan Archive, Durham, describes his career as such: 1892 Commission in the Cameron Highlanders, 1899-1921 Egyptian Army service, 1905 Seconded from the Egyptian Army to the Sudan Government, 1906-1907 Governor Mongalla, 1908-1913 Governor Kassala Province, 1913-1921 Governor Sennar (later Fung Province), 1921 Retired from Sudan service.
Cameron had been present at the battle of Umm Dibaykarat in which the Khalifa Abdallahi and most of of the remaining Mahdist elite died, taking a number of photographs of the event.
