Pentelic marble is sourced from Mount Pentelicus in Attica, Greece. It is particularly prized for use in construction and sculpture; in the 4th century BCE Pentelic marble was used to build the Acropolis, and it was later exported to ancient Rome and subsequent Italian cultures.
The marble has a slight golden sheen.
