al-Siddiq al-Mahdi (d. 1899) was the Sudanese Mahdi's fourth son. With the defeat of the ansar at Karari (2 Sept., 1898), most of the surviving Mahdist elite fled the city. However, they were not a unified party, as while most of the elite fled with the Khalifa Abdallahi, Khalifa Muhammad Sharif and the Mahdi's sons made their own exit. The only of the Mahdi's sons to accompany the Khalifa Abdallahi had been al-Siddiq; both men would be killed in the Battle of Umm Dibaykarat (24 Nov., 1899).
