Original Commentary

Triumphal Cross, Lübeck Cathedral.

This large rood cross was made between 1470 and 1478 by German artist Bernt Notke (c.1440-1509) for Lübeck Cathedral, patronaged by Bishop Albert Krummedik, depicted kneeling on the right side. Distributed over the work are the statues of various Biblical figures.
